A Sermon on

We are not alone

Presented By
Rev. Arthur Kutsumitis

As all Christians know, Prayer is the most powerful tool we have. Be it our daily Prayer, Prayer for meals, bedtime Prayers or a Prayer for the health or well being of a loved one, or yourself, we all Pray. Do you ever ask yourself, are my Prayers being answered? The answer is "Yes" GOD answers all Prayers. You may not think so, but he does. The answer may be "No", but he does answer. Where am I going with this? Read on.

Did you ever look back on your life and think about all the difficult times you went through? How you thought you were alone, and how you ever got through it all? Well, take a minute and read my favorite poem below, and it will explain it to you.

Footprints

One night I had a dream. I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord, And across the sky flashed scenes of my life. For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to me and the other belonging to the Lord.

When the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked at the footprints in the sand. I noticed that many times along the path of my life there was only one set of footprints.... I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of my life. One set of footprients in the sand, Lord you promised me you'd hold my hand, tell me why during the troubled times that I look back and only find, One set of foot prints in the sand

This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you- you would walk with me all the way. but I noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why in times when I needed you the most, you would leave me".

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you during the times of your trials and sufferings. When you saw only one set of footprints- It was then that I carried you".

That is my favorite poem. Why? Because it's true. Now think back on your life. Did you make it through those rough times? Yes you did. Could you have done it alone? No you couldn't !! We had help. Yes, family and friends helped us, but they weren't the only ones helping at those times. Everytime you Pray you are asking for help. This is why we Pray. Remember, GOD answers all Prayers, be it "Yes" or "No" In conclusion, say a Prayer everyday, ask The Lord for help, he will answer you. Prayer is key, to a good Christian life. Communicate anything you want in your daily Prayer, he will answer. Fellowship with other Christians. Church is a great place to start. Get together with other Christians, and hold a Prayer group in your home or social club, or visit our online "Prayer Room" It doesn't matter where you Pray, you will be heard and answered. The power of Prayer is incredible, try it today, and you can look forward to a better and more fulfilling future.
